Gray Manufacturing Brings Patent Infringement Suit Against Purchaser of SEFAC SW3 Wireless Mobile Column Lifts

Gray Manufacturing Company, Inc., (Gray) announced today that it initiated a patent infringement suit in federal court in Virginia against the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. In the suit, Gray alleges that the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department violated Gray’s recently issued patent, U.S. Patent No. 10,457,536 B2 covering wireless mobile column lifts, when it purchased and put into use a new set of SEFAC’s SW3 wireless mobile column lifts. The suit alleges that the fire department recently purchased the SW3 lifts from SEFAC USA, Inc.

Gray’s President, Stet Schanze added, “Gray firmly believes that SEFAC’s SW3 wireless mobile column lifts violate numerous Gray patents, including U.S. Patent No. 10,457,536 B2. This is another example of an unfortunate situation where customers are caught in the middle of a dispute between Gray Manufacturing and SEFAC. Gray has an obligation to our customers, our stakeholders, our employees, our licensees, and the market to enforce these important patent rights against SEFAC and anyone who uses the SW2.2 or SW3 wireless mobile column lifts in violation of those patent rights and we intend to continue to do so.”
